Objective: The purpose of this course is to provide college-level instruction in Tennessee History.  This course will include extensive readings, lectures, analysis of primary sources, essay writing, and the creation of a research paper.  

Evaluation:

Take-home mid-term exam:  25%   
In-class final exam:      25%   
Research paper:           25%
Average of other work:    25%

Other work will consist of small writing assignments, quizzes (both announced and pop quizzes), and class discussions.

Grading Scale:

This course is being offered for college credit, and, as such will be graded on the scale typically used at East Tennessee State University:
